High Fiber Diet, “Making Our Mark”

High Fiber Diet is a group of more than thirty artists located in Southwestern Washington and Western Oregon who choose to work with fiber to express their interpretation of the world and themselves. This show is entitled “Making Our Mark” and it is meant both literally and figuratively. The membership has chosen an icon that has been worked into each pieces and runs like a vein throughout the show.
Ron Bunch and Bob Heath, “Kaleidoscope: Patterns of Land, Ocean, Sun and Sky”
Feb. 10 - March 6

This show emphasizes interplay between color, translucency, light and form similar to what one might see at the boundary of land, ocean, sun and sky. The Collage/ Mixed media work of Ron Bunch and the glass art of Bob Heath, both contain a multifaceted nature similar to an image seen through a kaleidoscope.
Taft High Student Show led by Art Teacher Noah Lambie

A showcase of finished work by Taft High Students including pencil drawings, surreal imagery, a collaborative mural, art prints and an interactive experience.
“All About Birds, 2017” with Carrie Ann Reda and Arlon Gilliland

This year’s Bird Themed Art Show will feature the watercolor, oil paint and graphite work of Carrie Ann Reda, the water media paintings of Arlon Gilliland. There will also be a 3-d artist to be announced.
North Lincoln County Spring ART STUDIO TOUR

Our first annual ART STUDIO TOUR based out of the Lincoln City Cultural Center where we have 4 working studios on location that will be joined by a dozen more exclusive artists’ studios for the weekends of May 13th and 14th and May 20th and 21st. The Chessman Gallery will be hosting a show of all of the artists that participate in the tour throughout the month of May. Stay tuned for our website coming soon.
“Going Green” by the Toledo Arts Guild
June 9th- July 10th

“Going Green” will express themes of ecology, the environment, recycling and up cycling and of course, the color green in all it’s variation. The 25 artists of the Toledo Arts Guild will present pottery, glass, assemblage art, collage, paintings, needlepoint and more.

Loving, Studying and Restoring Our Public Open Spaces”

Thanks to the foresight and grit of Lincoln City’s powers-that-be, the City is fortunate to include 370 acres of open space within its boundaries; 28 areas with an amazing treasury of flora and fauna preserved to benefit us all. This exhibit will shines a spotlight on the open spaces from a natural science illustrator’s perspective, with renderings that highlight important species, projects, and restorations that are currently taking place.
Childrens’ book Illustration Group Show with Sarah Gayle, Matt Fitzwater and Krista Eddy

This exhibit of Children’s book Illustrations will include framed, original illustrations, prints and the finished books by author/ illustrator, Sarah Gayle who has two published children’s’ books, one of which is entitled, “Come one, Come All to the Fairy Ball”, Matt Fitzwater, who has a background in graphic novel illustration and Krista Eddy, who has a new, experimental black and white book.
This show will be in tandem with a Children's Book Festival on Saturday, Sept. 9th.
Portals Into Fiber” Fiber Arts Group

This exhibit strives to share a part of each of the artists involved, focusing on both message and aesthetic. It is a portal to educate viewers on the diversity of fiber as a means of expressing the range of human conditions, as well as an art show of depth and quality.
"A Colorful Confluence” by Carol Pulvermacher and Virginia Leonnig

This collaborative show between two Oregon artists expresses a shared love of Pacific Northwest wildlife using different mediums and styles. Choosing like subject matter and same size supports, these works create a surprising and unusual confluence of color, energy and creativity.
Chiaroscuro: Casting Shadows in Mosaic” Group Mosaic Show

The ancient art of mosaic is enjoying a renaissance in the world today. Artists are using traditional tools and materials and combining them with other materials and a contemporary sensibility to create astonishing new work. This Group of artists from Oregon and Washington all work in the broad medium of mosaic will explore the nature of light and dark, how shadows are cast by materials in their work, or how mosaic materials either reflect or absorb light. Artists include: Lynn Adamo, Joanne Daschel, Scott Fitzwater, Jennifer Kuhns, Karen Rycheck and Mark Brody.
